Betty White Clark was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 21, 2015. She passed away
peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Believers’ Chapel, 6420 Churchill Way in Dallas.
Betty was born on May 9, 1928, in El Paso, Texas to Newton and Genevieve White of Anthony, Texas. She was a boarding student at the Hockaday School before attending SMU in Dallas. It was at a Hockaday party, on a blind date, where Betty met her beloved husband Joe Richard Clark, a member of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. The day of her passing marked the 67th anniversary of their marriage.
Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She was member of the Dallas Woman’s Club, the Marianne Scruggs Garden Club, and the Lyceum Club but her most meaningful affiliation was with fellow Christians at Believers’ Chapel. In her fifties, Betty turned her love of Native American Jewelry into a profitable small business.
Survivors: Son, James Roderick Clark; daughter, Carolyn Clark Edwards; son Joseph Breen Clark; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
