Betty Ellen Gray

Betty Ellen (Roush) Gray, 98, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Hurst, Texas.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Viewing will be at 9:30 prior to the service.
Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, next to her husband of 62 years, Leon Gray.

Betty was born January 13, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her parents were George and Leota Roush. She met Leon in California at a military aircraft manufacturing plant during WWII. They married in Pima, Arizona, on March 29, 1945.

Betty worked for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Tax Office for many years. She then worked for several years at American Airlines, where she retired. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Hurst for over 60 years.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Leon and her brother George Roush Jr.

She is survived by sister Donna Williams, brother Richard Roush, and 3 children: Gary Gray and wife Vicki, Larry Gray and wife Rhesa, and Leslie Gray Mauk and husband Jerry. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren:
Paul Gray, Donna Gray Smith, Adam Gray, Angela Gray Bronson, Jodi Gray Beaver, Marcia Gray Hensley, Jason Cantrell, and Julie Cantrell Kulas.
20 Great-grandchildren and 9 Great-great-grandchildren.

Betty's love and devotion to her family was beyond measure. She was loved
tremendously and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
