Betty Jo Harrison, 72, of Granbury, TX born September 7, 1946 left this earth October 29, 2018.Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, Nov. 02, 2018 at the Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home Chapel, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson, TX. 76028. Rev. Paul Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Cemetery, Ft. Worth.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home. Betty was born in Dallas and mostly raised in Fort Worth where she was in the band, part of the business program and a majorette at Trimble Tech High School. She met the love of her life at the age of 14 and she and J.W. Harrison married October 21, 1963. Her early career began in bookkeeping and accounting. She spent 28 years in Burleson where she raised her children. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Pets have always been an considered an extension of family. She loved the holidays and planning meals for the gatherings. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and board games of all kinds.
She was a member of Burleson Band Boosters and chaperoned the kids on trip to Hawaii. For the last 23 years she has been a member of Fort Worth Board of Realtors as a realtor serving Burleson and the surrounding communities.
Recently, she lost her beloved Schnauzer, Whiskers. She is survived by her husband of 55 yrs, J.W. (Bud) Harrison of Granbury; her son Donald W. Harrison of Dallas; daughter Stephanie D. Harrison of Dallas; grand dog Charlie also of Dallas and numerous friends and extended family. Casual attire is recommended.
