Betty (Grandma) King, born in Elyria, Ohio to Mildred and Alvin Vimpeny, entered into
her eternal home on July 8, 2022. She lived her life of 88 years always serving others
as a mother, foster mom, grandmother, great grandmother and working in a nursery at
her church in Jacksonville. She loved crocheting afghans, shopping for groceries, which
she always kept in an abundant supply, and the children she cared for. Evident by all
the kids loving grandma's house because of big hugs, toys and the good food.
Preceded in death by her Father, Mother, 3 Sisters Mildred, Janet, and Sue (Corky), 2
brothers Alvin (Al) and Leonard (Bud), 4 children David Peckham, Debbie Peckham,
Patsy King, Vivian King, and Granddaughter Betsy.
Preceded also by her loving husband of 48 years Leonard King.
Survived by her 4 children Denise Eddy, Leo King Jr., Ken King, and Susan McCall. Her
legacy also continues with her 20 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great
Great Grandchildren.
Betty’s memorial service is 11am Saturday July 16, 2022 at Meadow Creek Baptist

She is set to rest next to her husband at the Kings Family Plot in Pikeville, Kentucky.
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen
asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.”
