Betty Jo Parham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at her home in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 87. She was born Betty Jo Taylor on January 17, 1937, in Morgan County, Alabama, to Charlie and Beulah Mae (Mama Tay) Taylor. She was raised in Cullman County, Alabama. She had two brothers and five sisters. Two of the Taylor sisters - Hilda and Betty Jo - were doubly lucky to meet and marry two Parham brothers. Betty Jo went to Fort Worth to visit her sister Hilda. While she was there, she met Hilda’s boyfriend Robert and his brother Emmett. Betty Jo and Emmett fell in love and married in Fort Worth. They had 3 sons, Tim, Wes, and Randy.
Betty Jo Parham was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family and friends. She loved bowling and was a long time member of a bowling league. She filled the front and back of a vest with patches she earned from bowling over 200. She loved visiting Port Aransas with Emmett. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. She loved to visit family and friends and was adored by many.
She is survived by her sisters Hilda Parham and Gail Williams; her three sons: Timothy Franklin Parham and wife Lorrie Parham, Wesley Dean Parham and Elaine Lancaster, and Randy Glenn Parham; her 4 grandchildren: Leslie Elena Howard and husband Nick Howard, Timothy Ryan Parham, Holly Celine Boykin, and Daniel Adam Parham; 2 great-grandchildren; Elena Joy Howard and Atlas Benjamin Vanek; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Franklin Taylor and Beulah Mae Blankenship Taylor; her husband Wesley Emmett Parham Jr.; her brothers, James Taylor and Charles “Sonny” Taylor; and her sisters: Agnes Bagwell, Jeannie Woodard, and Jeanette Cupp. Although she will be missed, her many friends and relatives can rejoice that Betty Jo is at home in heaven.
