FORT WORTH -- Betty Evans Reeves, 80, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday July 15, 2012.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Interment: 3:30 p.m. in Downing Cemetery in Downing. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born in Downing on March 17, 1932. She graduated from De Leon in 1950. She was a wonderful sister, mother and treasured friend. She was a member of Messiah Baptist Church in Richland Hills. Betty worked for Safeway and Minyard grocery stores for over 30 years and then even in retirement she enjoyed working in a local bridal shop. Betty loved helping others and that carried over into her volunteering at North Hills Hospital, her much-loved TOPPS program, the Eastern Star and the Red Hat club. She was loved dearly and is now at peace.
Survivors: Her children, Bobbie Wylie and husband, Stephen, Lesa Rydell and husband, Todd, and John Allen and wife, Jeanette; grandson, Clayton Martin and wife, Jami; granddaughters, Shalesa, Sierra, Ella and Ava; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Brooke, Stephanie and Jaiden; sister, Mary Gilliam; brothers, Jesse Evans and Bobby Evans; brother-in-law, Joe Allen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
