Betty Jean Sneed

Betty Jean Sneed of Richland Hills, Texas, former longtime resident of Dallas, Texas, died at the age of 91 on May 18, 2021.

She was born Betty Jean Cosper on March 8, 1930 to Elmer Jackson Cosper and Mattie Stinchcomb Cosper in Non, Oklahoma. Jean grew up in Henryetta, Oklahoma on a farm and graduated from Pharaoh High School where she was Captain of the girls’ basketball team. After graduation she attended Drauns Business College. Her sister, Thelma, introduced her to Everett Delmon Sneed, Jr. and they married in 1951. Later they moved to Davenport, Iowa where Everett completed his Doctorate from Palmer School of Chiropractic. They moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma where he was a Doctor of Chiropractic for 10 years while Jean was a stay-at-home Mom to their three children.

In 1966 the family relocated to Dallas, Texas where Jean enjoyed working in the Fashion Industry for The Lorch Company, data processing department, approximately 15 years.

Jean’s husband, children and family were the light of her life!
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Sneed Reynolds and husband, Don, Sherry Sneed Eckhardt and husband Winston; and her son, Phillip Sneed; her grandchildren, Lauren Bailey, and husband Jake, Landon Eckhardt, and wife Amanda, Elizabeth Sneed, and Phillip Sneed, Jr.; and three precious great grandchildren, James, Everett and Winston Bailey. She is also survived by her younger brother, Frank Cosper, and wife, Johnnie and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Everett and granddaughter Lindsey Eckhardt.
