Betty L Thomson, resident of Burleson, TX passed away on August 8th, 2023 at her home at the age of 78.
Betty Was born in Pasadena, Texas. She grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Amon Carter Riverside High School. Her brother, Bobby introduced her to the man that would later become her husband, Gerry Thomson. As any good sister would do, Betty returned the favor many years later and introduced her brother, Bobby, to her best friend, Lin who later married Bobby. After having her children, Betty attended TCJC where she earned an Associates Degree and put that to use in a Human Resources career. During this career, she met a group of wonderful ladies that we call “The Babich Girls”, Nancy, Linda, Lena, and Lin. They are family to her as much as any blood kin.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and did this with “The Babich Girls” as often as she/they could. She also loved going to Missouri to spend time with her brother and best friend/sister-in-law. She always said “they are the best host and hostess”. She also enjoyed going to see her friend, Joyce in Oklahoma once she moved away from the area.
After Betty’s husband, Gerry died, she got a dog. This was a big joke with them! She always told him that she was going to do this if she out-lived him. She made good on this promise and got Sherman, a Shih Tzu, who was a loving friend and companion.
If you were lucky enough to have Betty in your life, you would know that she fiercely loved her family and friends. She stood by them and did everything she could do to take care of them and be there for them. She expected nothing in return.
Betty was survived by her son, Allen Thomson and his wife Pam Thomson, grandchildren Justin Thomson and his wife Angela, Elaine Montgomery and her husband Irving Montgomery, and Jason Thomson and his fiancée Ashley Hendrix, her great-grandchildren Sara Thomson, and Georgia Thomson as well as her brother Bobby Redfield and wife (also Betty’s best friend) Lin Redfield, sisters Elouise, Linda, Jackie, as well as brother-in-law Ernie Thomson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Laura Thomson, and her husband Gerry Thomson.
