Bettye V. Killgore, 88, of Burleson passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2018.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pathway Church in Burleson with a visitation 30 minutes prior.
Interment: Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado.
Memorials: If you wish, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Bettye's name.
Bettye Virginia Killgore, born to Nell and Troy Killgore in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 18, 1929, passed away in Burleson, Texas on January 18th, 2018. Bettye is survived by her many friends and loved ones. From the time of her 1953 graduation from PSCE in Richmond, VA, she spent her life as a Christian Education Pioneer, teaching the gospel, and training Christian Educators and Leaders. Bettye's work spanned multiple states, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas. She touched many lives in all phases of congregational life. In 1978, Bettye was honored by the Atlanta Presbytery for twenty-five years of service and dedication to the cause of education. For her joyful service for God and the Church, many surviving give thanks, and many in Heaven, including her mother Nell and her sister Barbera, welcome her home.
