Bill Hammond

July 3, 1947 — April 14, 2019

William Hammond was born on July 3, 1947 in El Paso Texas. He graduated from Eastwood High School and attended college at Odessa Junior College and The University of Texas at El Paso. After serving 3 years in the US Army Bill met and married the love of his life, Betty, in 1974. They just celebrated 45 beautiful years. Bill was faithfully employed with American Airlines for 35 years. He was the father of 2 boys, Ben and Brad.

Bill’s servants heart and gentle spirit was noticed and loved by all. You could often find him volunteering for the parking ministry or ushering church members to their chairs on Sunday mornings. He found great joy in giving his Wednesday evenings to the AWANAS program and loved listening to children learn and recite the word of God. He will be remembered by his family members for his quiet devotion to God, his ability to make his 4 grandkids squeal with delight, and his warm hugs.

Bill is survived by his wife Betty, his 2 sons, his brother Ken, and sister Cindy as well as 4 grand children.

Memorial Service: 10:00 am Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Alliance Community Fellowship. Interment will be at a later date at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
