Billie Jo Cobb passed away peacefully on November 11, 2019, at her home in Discovery Village of Southlake. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was born on August 11, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to her parents, Alberta and Clinton Briggs. Billie Jo loved surrounding herself with extended family of children and made every effort to be at most of their births when possible. Her other loves were “Big Band” classic music, crossword puzzling and her shorthand skills were a work of art. She was a loyal wife and wonderful mother who will be missed by all.
Our family is so blessed to have our wonderful Caregivers, Odies Johnson and Cathy Johnson, who have provided the best care in the world. They have become a part of our extended family and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. They helped Billie Jo navigate through a tough disease with grace and dignity. This is a gift we will cherish forever.
Billie Jo is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Cobb; daughters Susan (Art) Brown, Martha (Greg) Bellomy; sons Tom (Ahne) Purdum, Phil (Sharon) Cobb, Dwight (Beverly) Cobb; grandchildren Shannon (Jamie) Gornell, Lindsay (Rusty) Lane, Monica (Nick) Holdum, Hunter Purdum, Gregory (Mackenzie) Bellomy, Lindsey Bellomy, Suzanne Nourse, Christopher Cobb; and 7 Great-Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. More research is needed to raise awareness and promote scientific advances.
