Billie Mae (Cline) Harston, of Keller, Texas, was born in Smithfield, Texas on September 7th, 1924, and passed away on March 27th, 2023, at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by parents William and Anne (Maxon) Cline; brother Wallace Cline; and husband J.C. Harston. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Mathews and husband Kent; granddaughter Meredith Blair and husband Jordan; and great-grandson Jude Blair.
Billie and J.C Harston were married on July 30th, 1953, at the home of their preacher L.L. Jameson. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage until J.C.’s passing.
As a young woman Billie worked at Redding’s grocery store in Smithfield. Later she owned Billie’s Mexican Import Shop where she sold gifts and plants.
She was a member of the Smithfield Church of Christ congregation for almost 70 years and spent many years as a Bible class teacher and in other areas of service.
She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed many crafts, including needlework, knitting, making ceramics, and gardening.
Billie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by her family.
There will be a graveside service for Billie Harston at Smithfield Cemetery, located at 7935 Main St, North Richland Hills, Texas, 76182, on Saturday, April 1st, at 10:00 am.
