Billie Rogers Melton, 85 went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Graveside Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Burleson Memorial Cemetery in Burleson, Texas. Rogers was born on December 1, 1932 in Quail, Texas to parents Bill and Opal Melton. The family moved to Wellington Texas where Rogers graduated from Wellington High school, he was an outstanding athlete in all sports. He attended Cameron Junior College in Oklahoma. In January 1952, Rogers married Mary Ann White, they had three children. He worked for Shamburger Lumber Company, Wellington Lumber Company, as a bookkeeper and customer service employee. He then moved to Pampa Texas working for Celenise Chemical Company. The family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1959 where Rogers became a master carpenter. He retired in 1989.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church Burleson. Rogers was a Mason, Shriner, master carpenter, talented artist and loved to hunt and fish. A special thank you to New Hope Hospice Care and the staff at Mansfield Medical Lodge for taking such wonderful care of him in the final months of his life. His family is so very grateful. Survivors: wife of 66 years, Mary Ann Melton; sons, Kenneth Rogers Melton and wife Linda Beth Melton; daugthers, Tommi Ann Mitchell and husband Kenny Wayne Mitchell, Teresa Kay Binney and husband Roger Binney; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
