Dr. Billy D. Coulson, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016.
Funeral Services: June 2, 10am at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd. Hurst. Visitation to follow service. Private burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Wichita Falls. Following the burial, family will receive guests in the parlor of Colonial Church, 4300 Maplewood, Wichita Falls from 2pm-4pm.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Billy's name to The Navigators Ministries, P.O. Box 6079, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9858.
Billy was born in Wichita Falls on August 22, 1932. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School where he proudly played for the Coyotes State Championship football teams of 1949 and 1950. He graduated from Midwestern State University and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch, Houston, in 1958. He practiced dentistry for 46 years in Wichita Falls.
He married Sarah Jane Rigsby on Christmas Day, 1954. She survives him along with two daughters of whom he was very proud, Lee Ann and husband Gary Liebst of Conroe, their children Evan, Alec, Kimberly and Carley; Kay Lynn and husband Dallas Renfro of Grapevine, their daughters Kathryn and Laura; great-grandson Thomas and sister Charlotte Lee.
While living in Wichita Falls, Billy and Sarah were active members of Colonial Baptist Church. He was instrumental in organizing the Celebrate Recovery program at the church. After moving to Bedford, they joined First Baptist Church, Hurst.
Billy was active in the dental profession, serving as President of Wichita County Dental Society and as Vice President and Director of Texas Dental Association. He was a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
