Billy J. Smith, 49, passed away on September 18, 2019, at UT Southwest Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was born on January 19, 1970, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Caesar Davis and Shirley Cooks.

Billy grew up in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Del City High School in Oklahoma City, OK in 1988. After high school he:

Attended College at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. Where he played football and received a Bachelors in Education in 1993.
Billy’s teaching and coaching career started at Edmond Sante Fe High School in Edmund, OK in 1993, and ended at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield ISD where he taught and coached for 15 years.
Billy married Deanna in 1993 in Oklahoma City, OK. They were happily married for 27 years. Billy was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Fellowship of a Christian Athlete, and the Texas High School Coaches Association. Billy enjoyed time with his family, coaching and mentoring young athletes, and football.
Billy is survived by his spouse, Deanna of Clinton, Ok.; His children, Brandon, Billy II, Bronsyn, Bailee, and Benjamin; His siblings, Connell, Antonio, Angela, and Christina Cooks, Caesar Davis, Tonya Mazora, Doshelle Davis, Yolanda Fisher, Randall Davis, Tamara Davis, Tannise Davis; grandchildren, Brandon and Brylie Green; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to MD Anderson Hospital, UT Southwestern Hospital, Vista Hospice care, Mansfield ISD, Blessings Funeral Home, and Bethlehem Baptist Church.
