Bob L. Porter, Jr., passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 at the age of 74, in Argyle, TX.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Marie; his four children: Courtney Porter, Eric (Patricia) Porter, Kelly (Aaron) Beard, and Kevin Porter. He was a beloved “GrandBob” to his six grandchildren: Henry, Abigail, Lilah, Dominic, Graham and Ethan.

Bob passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love. Never was there a more devoted family man. He was the inspiration and brain of his family, a mentor always championing his children's personal successes. He was known for his gorgeous blue eyes and easygoing, reserved demeanor.

Bob loved road trips with his family. From the time his children were very little, he combined his summer business trips with family time. During these road trips, his family saw the sites in nearly all 50 states. The Colorado Rockies, where he first met his wife, was his favorite place to explore, hunt and fish. He enjoyed family movie nights and was a passionate baseball and OU Sooners fan. He loved to read. An annoyingly expert Trivial Pursuit player, he also loved to unwind with a glass of wine while singing cheesy folksongs to make his wife laugh. In his retirement, he found joy being around his grandchildren and took great pride in every one of his children. He will be forever and profoundly missed.
