Bobbie Elaine Russell

Bobbie Russell, resident of Fort Worth, formerly of Kennedale, TX passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Brookdale Tanglewood Oaks at the age of 87 years. 

 Bobbie was born on April 16, 1937 in Fort Worth, TX. Her vocations and interests were vast and wide-ranging. She worked as a car hop, in administration at John Peter Smith Hospital, and as a baker at Pepperidge Farm. Bobbie love to travel, both domestic and internationally. The deep south, Louisiana and Mississippi, and Iran were favorite destinations. She was strong-willed, steadfast in her beliefs and had a compassionate heart. Bobbie had a deep love for animals; she was a strong proponent for adoption, not only taking dogs in, but finding homes for strays. Bobbie was a member of the Eastern Star Society. In her free time, when not traveling, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking.

 Bobbie is survived by her son, Ricky Russell; granddaughters, Tabitha Russell (wife Amber Windle), Bre Bishop (husband Christopher Bishop); great-grandchildren, Mykenna Windle and Morgan Windle; sister, Joan Dell; cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Doyle Russell; son, Lester P Russell; grandson, J.R. Russell; parents, Herold Burnett and Lucille Hallmark; and brother, Terry Burnett.

 Visitation will be held on September 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Lucas Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave. Burleson, TX 76028. Graveside service will be held on September 5, 2024 at 12:00PM at Cope Cemetery near Retta, TX
