Bobbie Jo Thompson Beverung

Bobbie Jo Thompson Beverung, 90, transferred to her heavenly home on January 17, 2024. She
was born on September 23, 1933 to Leslie and Jessie Thompson in Mart, TX. In 1973 Bobbie
married John Beverung. She was a long-time resident of Fort Worth and a member of Peace
Lutheran Church in Bedford, TX.
Bobbie began working for Riverside State Bank in 1957 as a Loan Secretary. She was promoted
to Assistant Vice President and Consumer Loan Representative in 1984. In 1985 she was named
Vice President and Senior Consumer Lending Representative and was always a top-ranking loan
producer.
She had a passion for traveling, two of her most memorable trips being to Hong Kong and the
Holy Lands where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She loved the water and made many
special memories with family at the lake house she and John shared. Bridge was her favorite
pastime and she was a Life Master with a gold level status. Bobbie also had a love for flowers,
anything pink and red, cats and always doted on her dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Jessie; her husband, John Beverung, her
brother, Frank Thompson; her nephews Kerry Thompson and Tim Underhill. She is survived by
“Big Sister Dear”, Wanda Thompson Underhill Kuehler of Austin; sister-in-law Sandy Thompson;
daughter, Kay Hidalgo and husband Greg; stepdaughters Karen Prince, Gina Livingston and
husband Mike, Darlene Tatum, and Anita Calvert. She is also survived by grandchildren April,
Autumn, Geni, Geri and Tessa and husband Brent and sons Oliver and Owen; nephew Rick
Thompson.
Visitation will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX on Monday, January 22, 2024
from 3-5pm. Graveside service will be held at the Mart Cemetery on Tuesday, January 23, 2024
at 12pm in Mart, TX.
