Bobby (Bob) Don Langston was born in Eastland Precinct One which was incorporated later as the town of Olden, Texas. His parents are Charles Lee Langston and Lettie McDonald Langston. As a child, Bob rode with his dad on early morning routes delivering produce to markets after his mother cooked their 2:00am breakfast. He served in the United States Air Force four years and Air Force Reserve 2 years and earned Honorable Discharges from both. Bob, with family members around him, went peacefully to God’s loving arms. His parents, sister Dot, 2 brothers, Mack and Jim, son-in-law Joe McKittrick and wife’s son Trevor McLain went before him.
His two children are David and Alice Langston. David and his wife Cathy gave him 3 grandsons, Andrew, Peter and Vincent, and one granddaughter, Gabby. Alice McKittrick lost Joe McKittrick to leukemia at a young age. Alice is married to Keith Putnam and raised Bob’s granddaughter, Stephanie Herrin and grandson Dane McKittrick. Stephanie is married to Albert Mendez and are raising 2 great granddaughters, Elizabeth Herrin and Addison Mendez, and great grandson Lucas Mendez. Bob’s grandson Dane McKittrick and wife Emily gave him great grandson Dawson. All love their dogs.
Bob and his wife of 35 years, Linda and her daughter Angela and husband Wesley Weddle, gave him 2 grandchildren Bobby Weddle and wife Courtney, with his daughter, Ramsay, and her daughter, Chloe, and son, Landon. Kimberlee Brooke Weddle is Wesley and Angela’s daughter and Bob’s granddaughter. Bob is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bob and Linda are members of Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford, Texas and were part of the Good News Sunday School class, with wonderful teacher, Jesse Owens, but the elderly class is gone. The Church Care Team has been a blessing.
Bob was a math teacher in area high schools and Tarrant County College. He enjoyed traveling to parks and was a member of National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Lone Star Chapter 124 where he learned how to work on old clocks. He had Meniere’s disease, survived cancer, heart disease, surgeries, and lived with Alzheimer’s for several years.
