With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Bobby Ray Mead, 86, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bobby peacefully left us on June 16, 2024, in Haslet, Texas. Born to Calvin and Essie Mead in Star City, Arkansas, Bobby later relocated to Irving, Texas, where he dedicated over four decades to a successful career in the freight industry.
Throughout his life, Bobby cherished his family deeply. He leaves behind his daughter Kimberly and her husband Donald Hurley of Keller, TX, as well as his son Kevin Mead of Haslet, Texas. His four granddaughters, Emori-Rose Hurley, Layla Mead, Harbor Mead, and Eden Mead, brought immense joy and light into his world.
Bobby had a passion for outdoor activities and cherished spending time with his family, often going on vacations together. His love for sports shone through in his unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Arkansas Razorbacks. Despite his move to Texas, Bobby held Arkansas close to his heart, never forgetting his roots.
In honor of Bobby's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Bethel Methodist Church in Colleyville, Texas, specifically for the youth fund aimed at sending young individuals to church camp at no cost.
Funeral services to celebrate Bobby's life will be held at Bethel Methodist in Colleyville, Texas, on Sunday, June 30, 2024, following the church service starting at 12:30 PM.
