Bobby L. Raspberry was born in Stuttgart, Ark., on Oct. 11, 1934. He passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at home.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Bourland Cemetery in Keller. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller.

He was a 1952 graduate of Poly High School in Fort Worth, TX. and he attended Arlington State College. On December 1, 1952 he volunteered for service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His four years included boot camp, transit to and from overseas and 25 months at Oppama, Japan serving Patrol Squadrons and 19 months as NAS North Island, San Diego in Naval Aviation Personnel Assignment. After military service Bob worked with his father in a grocery store in Keller, TX. There he met his bride to be in June 1957. He married Janis E. Pipkin at First Baptist Church on September 8th, 1957. His fondest memories were those days with his 3 daughters being born and growing up in Keller. Bob worked with his Dad for 6 years until appointment as Keller Postmaster in October 1963, where he remained until June 20, 1970. He was selected for the position of U.S. Postal Inspector. Training in Virginia, Md., and Washington, D.C. he was given field assignments from the Saint Louis, Kansas City, Saint Paul, Des Moines, and Saint Louis Divisions of the Postal Inspection Service. He was domiciled at Poplar Bluff, MO., Des Moines, IA, and Saint Louis, Mo. He worked in 29 states before retiring on June 30, 1990. During his adult life he served in his community as a Volunteer Fireman (10), Keller, TX. Youth Activities Board Member, Pony League Baseball Manager, Umpire, Past President, Keller Lions Club (13), Life Member VFW Post 5074, Roanoke, TX., Masonic Lodge 1084, Keller, TX. and United Methodist Church. In retirement at Kimberling City, Mo., He was a memeber of  the Methodist Church, American Legion Post 637 since 1992, National Association of Retired FederalEmployees Chapter 1437 in Branson and St. Louis Chapter, National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Leon Levell Raspberry and Ruby Celeste (Barlow) Raspberry. Leon died in 1991, and Celeste died in 2002. He is also preceded in death by his baby brother Michael Leon Raspberry, who died of cancer at the age of 42, in 1986.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Janis, of 55 years; his daughters, Sue Moore (Tom) of Jenks, Okla., Joy Butler (Jeff) of Johnston, Iowa, and Amy Fitzgerald (Kurt) of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Dylan, Holly, Elise, AJ, David, Austin, Carson and Howie; and brother, Don Raspberry.
