Bonnie Jean Medders

Bonnie Jean Medders, resident of Burleson, Texas passed away on August 26, 2024 at the age of 91. Bonnie was born on her parent’s farm in Coryelle County. She attended school in Turnersville, Texas and graduated in 1950. Bonnie was senior class officer, drum major, football sweetheart, and played basketball in her sophomore and senior years. She was also on the school paper staff. Bonnie attended TCU in 1951-1953 and lived on her own in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Rozelle Medders and they had five children: Marc, Kurt, Brad, Suzy, and Cross Medders. They moved to Burleson in 1959. It was there that Bonnie was befriended by a neighbor, Pauline Russell, who led her to the Lord and discipled her. Bonnie started her working career in 1955 as a bank teller in Fort Worth. She worked her way up to Vice President of the Small Business Administration Loan Department. Bonnie retired in 2009. After retirement, Bonnie spent time with friends and family, traveled, and joined mission trips with her Living Water Church Family.

Bonnie loved the Lord Jesus Christ and never stopped praying for her children and grandchildren to come to know Him also.

Bonnie was a 30-year member of Living Water Church. She was a former member of the Women’s Business Alliance and former President of the South Fort Worth Business and Professional Women’s Club. She loved garage sales, and her grandchildren remember going with her. She was a collector of antique glassware.

Bonnie’s children include Marc (deceased), Kurt, Brad (deceased), Bonnie Sue (deceased), and Cross Medders. Her daughters-in-law are Suzy, Kay, and Carol.

Grandchildren are Amanda Gregory, Dillon Medders, and Samantha Medders, Jake Medders, Andrea Cox, Chase Medders, Vanessa Adkins, Katherine Cuellar, Matthew Medders, Scott Medders, and Sarah Sarker.

Great Grandchildren include Ryan and Clark Gregory, Colt and Chase and Cruze Medders, Grayson Cox, Lila, Kate, and McKenna Medders, Aiden Forkner, Brooklyn Medders, and Sienna, Shane, and Sydney Sarker, Jackson Miller, Michael and Olivia Medders, Caleb Hagenswald, Addie and Junior Adkins, Leighton, Lucy and McCrea Cuellar for a total of 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren!

The visitation service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5th at Lucas Funeral home 518 S.W. Johnson Ave. Burleson, Texas 76028. Visitation: 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Friday, Sept. 6th 518 S.W. Johnson Ave. Burleson, Texas 76028.
