Lewisville, TX 2017 - Brenda Kay Aycock, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died Wednesday the 9th of August at her home in Lewisville, Texas with family by her side.
Born in 1948 in Odessa, TX to Jesse and Lilla James, Brenda was challenged with very humble beginnings and the loss of her mother at a young age. She graduated from Waco High School and briefly attended the University of North Texas where she majored in music.
Brenda worked the majority of her life as a buyer for Moore, Standard Register, and then R.R. Donnelley, where she made cherished friendships and always helped to support her family.
Self-sacrificing, naturally quick-witted, and honest to a fault, Brenda brought light and laughter to those who knew her. She loved animals, decorating, and finding a good bargain. Brenda was happiest when she was doing for others. Whether she was cooking a meal, making a craft, or shopping for the perfect gift, her greatest pleasure in life was bringing joy to those she loved. With a servant's heart, Brenda devoted her life to loving and caring for her husband and family, and making sure her children were provided with every delight and every opportunity she missed out on in her own childhood.
Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, David Aycock; Son, Michael Miles; Daughter, Ashley Bunch and husband Ryan; Stepchildren (that were never referred to as "step-children") Kimberly Mote, Paul Aycock, and Keith Aycock; three grandchildren, Samantha, Parker, and Ashton; two sisters, Angelia Raftery and Penny Young; and several nieces and nephews.
Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements that will take place Tuesday, August 15th at 11:00am. A visitation will take place prior to the service at 10:00am.
