Brenda Lyon

January 28, 1962 — January 31, 2025

Brenda J. Lyon (née Brosky) of Fort Worth, Texas, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Jan. 31, 2025. She has found her eternal rest. Brenda's verse of comfort in this life was, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

Brenda was the devoted daughter of Paul and Judy (d) Brosky of Bruceton Mills, WV. She was known for her sacrificial, generous, thoughtful and compassionate nature. To be loved by her was to be the recipient of such wonderful qualities. One of Brenda's greatest joys was raising her beautiful daughters, Taylor and Jordan, throughout their many military assignments. She made every place they landed...home. Brenda eagerly volunteered with school functions, sewed the costumes, helped with the school projects and taught the girls to make the most of and ENJOY every opportunity presented to them. Her daughters embody so many of their mother's wonderful attributes.

As a dedicated military wife to her former husband LtCol Gregg L. Lyon USMC, Retired, Brenda was the consummate hostess. She welcomed any guest with lively conversation and a warm meal of a gourmet nature. It would not be unusual for Brenda to learn of someone's need and show up with a homemade treat and a gift to lift their weary spirits. It was her privilege and honor to serve shoulder to shoulder with Gregg at home and abroad. She was keenly aware of the gravity of his assignments and partnered with him utilizing her wisdom and grace.

As a lifelong learner, Brenda was a woman of many interests and talents. She majored in Math and Computer Science, challenging herself in areas she would say "don't come naturally." The rigor and discipline she put to use during her education paved the way for a successful career in computer programming, allowing her to serve her country with Defense contract work. One project of note was designing the navigation system for military fighter jets. In her "free time" before raising a family, she honed her culinary skills, became a private pilot, and could tailor a beautifully lined suit to wear to work the next day! Her love for others and her talents were as relentless as her efforts. "The Historian" as she was referred to by her family on their many international travel adventures, had Brenda exuberantly sharing stories of history, art, and culture of bygone eras. Her young daughters were not exempt from this passion as Brenda dutifully carted them across Great Britain to discover the locations and wonders of Jane Austen's literary works.

From a young age Brenda's talents often garnered attention, enjoying majorettes, cheerleading, singing and pageants. But Brenda, being a private person, preferred diligently serving in the background. Some of her fondest and most cherished memories were playing games, eating Chex Mix and laughing with family and lifelong friends during the holidays. Our Beloved B - your passing leaves a gaping hole in our hearts. We rejoice, you are at Peace with Christ and reunited in eternity with our Mother. You have found your eternal rest. Rest in Peace, dear Brenda.

Brenda is survived by her most cherished loved ones, her daughters Taylor and Jordan, and her former husband, Gregg Lyon, her father, Paul S. Brosky, her siblings and their families: Colleen (Wayne) Hintze, Wendy Hintze, Luke (Tracey), Logan (Lauren) Hintze and her great niece and great nephews; Andy (Vickie) Brosky, Cade (Julia) Brosky; Dawn (Lin) and Emma Marr; Erin (Ken) Lacey, Jared, Trevor, Kennedy, Mary and Justino Neikirk.
