Brenda Kay Bedford Mosley

February 2, 1938 — September 8, 2020

Brenda Kay Bedford Mosley was born on February 2, 1938 at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth to William Warner Bedford and Bertha Anna Hendrix Bedford. Brenda’s only sibling, Beverly Bedford Burge, was eighteen-years old at Brenda’s birth. The late-in-life surprise created a unique, joyful and fun-filled childhood until Brenda’s father died tragically and unexpectedly one day before Brenda’s fifth birthday. Brenda’s mother went to work, and she was raised by her mother and sister--she was surrounded by love. Brenda was a model student, and excelled in dance; she was a cheerleader and graduated from Poly High School. When Brenda was in high school, she met the only love of her life, Jim Charles Mosley. Jim, two years Brenda’s senior, enlisted in the Air Force in 1954--the couple married on August 5, 1955. Thus began one of the world’s great romances: Jim and Brenda remained completely dedicated to one another and madly in love for the remainder of Brenda’s life. Happy early years of marriage evolved into young parenthood as Christopher, Brent, and Gaye were added to the family. Brenda, born to be a mother, was extensively involved in PTA. As the children got older and Jim had his own employee benefits consulting business, Brenda went to work with Jim, diligently learning the business. Gaye married Rodney Dryden and soon Rodney joined the family business. Brenda and Jim worked together until only a few years ago when they retired. They enjoyed such clients as the Hunts, Carpenters, Clayton Williams, and many municipalities and school districts. In 1996 and 1999, the grand-parenting chapter ensued with the addition of Reed and Brooke Dryden to the family through Gaye and Rodney. Brenda’s grandkids brought infinite joy to hers and Jim’s lives. Brenda had a deep relationship with God and served Christ through many churches; Jim and Brenda especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School in young-married departments. Brenda was the epitome of feminine beauty, class, refinement, and style. There shall be a great void for those closest to her as love flowed from Brenda so naturally and completely. Brenda is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jim Charles Mosley, Christopher Bedford Mosley, Brent Charles Mosley, Gaye Beverly Dryden and her husband, Rodney Dryden, and their children Reed Bedford Dryden, and Brooke Nicole Dryden.

A memorial service was held on September 18, 2020 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. A recording of Mrs. Mosley's service is viewable here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MpPFxQgYrg
