Brenda Davis Petersen (age 83) died on Friday, May 20th at her home with her family by her side.
Memorial Service: 2:00pm on Friday, June 10th at the chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth.

Born August 25, 1932 in Memphis, Mrs. Petersen lived in Wynne, AR and Los Angeles before returning to Memphis where she completed high school. She attended Park College in Parkville, MO., the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the University of Texas at Arlington before receiving her B.A. degree in 1967 and M.A. in 1969 from the University of North Texas. Prior to her marriage to Roy Petersen, then an Air Force fighter pilot, she was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. Mrs. Petersen worked for two years as a speech/language therapist in the HEB ISD and was named "Teacher of the Year" during her second year by South Euless Elementary School. In 1970, she was invited to join the faculty in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Texas. Upon her retirement 25 years later, Mrs. Petersen's students and faculty colleagues established a scholarship in her honor.
Mrs. Petersen had lived in Euless since 1963 and had been an active member of St Philip since that time. She was also a member of the Clinical Certification Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and was a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. After her retirement, she was active in church and community volunteer work and especially enjoyed being able to spend more time with her family and in travel.
She was preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Roy L. Davis, her mother, Marian Morris Davis, her brother, Richard Morris Davis and her husband, Roy F. Petersen.
She is survived by her two sons, Roy (and his wife Laura) and Joe (and his wife Katie) as well as her nine grandchildren, A.J. Petersen, Paige Walker, Emily Nankivell, Cal Petersen, Lucy Pegues, Nolan Granzin, Jessica Petersen, Bear Petersen and Ruby Petersen. In addition, Brenda was blessed with nine great-grandchildren including Kazleigh, Liam, Oliver, Julianne, Blake, Kylie, Aven, Griffin and Beckett - all of the DFW area.
