Brent Earle Lewis, 69, of Southlake, TX, formerly of Amarillo, TX, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019. A memorial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 4100 Coulter Street in Amarillo. A celebration of his life will continue immediately following mass in the Parish Center. Brent was born August 16, 1949 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Kenneth Lewis and Marie (Caponera) Lewis. He graduated with many lifelong friends from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado and continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After marrying Janet (Neff) Lewis in 1975, they made their home in Amarillo, Texas where Brent founded Kast Marble Manufacturing. He expanded his business interests into commercial real estate, and also into oil and gas when he started TransAmerica Under Ground Horizontal Directional Drilling. One of Brent's greatest enjoyments was traveling with his wife and his childhood friends as they embarked on annual extended motorcycle trips eventually visiting all 50 states. He also enjoyed time working out with friends at the gym. He was a gun collector and member of the Dallas Gun Club where he spent time perfecting his marksmanship. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his dogs. The love of Brent's life were his daughters, Angela Marie and Sara Eileen and the recent addition to his family of his grandson, Jackson. He is survived by his wife Janet; daughter Angela (Lewis) Rogers and her husband Jonathan of Dallas; Sara (Lewis) Briley and husband John Parker also of Dallas; grandson Jackson Lewis Rogers; sister Lynnette Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous other family members.
