It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Buerk Williams announces his passing on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the age of 90.
Buerk will be lovingly remembered by his children Darrian, Christa (Matthew), Aron and Kevan (Julie). He will also be lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren Stephen, Sarah, Hannah and Kristopher.
Buerk was born and raised in Seattle Washington. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1947. He started his education at Whitman College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. He continued his education by earning a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Washington. He completed his Residency at the University of Alabama and finished his Radiology education with a Fellowship at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He had a long and successful career as a Radiologist. Buerk shared his interest in the field of Radiology by teaching others. He was passionate about teaching and did so through several Radiology Technical Schools throughout the State. He founded the Malone-Hogan Hospital School of X-Ray Technology in Big Spring,Texas.
After his retirement, he continued to share his love of teaching by donating his time and resources to support the Radiology Technology program at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, Texas.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 11 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 8425 Parkwood Hill Blvd, Fort Worth, Texas. Reception following.
