C. John Yates

Clyde “John” Yates 72, of North Richland Hills passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018.
The youngest of seven, John was born on March 17, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. John grew up and went on to join the US Army, serving in both Korea and Vietnam, retiring after twenty years in 1983 at the rank of CWO3. After leaving the army, he went on to work in the defense industry, retiring from Lockheed Martin after more than twenty years. After retirement, John enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, Sam & Jack, and following all their activities. He spent his time researching his family ancestry and training his dog Bitsy Lu Rose to learn tricks and skills. Watching her grow with her skills brought him joy.

John’s best friend, and loving wife of 52 years, is Karen Yates. He also cherished his children, Karen L. Daly (Josh) of Charlestown, IN and Thomas W. Yates (Terri), and his grandchildren, Samuel M. Yates and Jackson T. Yates of Carmel, IN. He will be missed by his niece Hattie, a special woman whom John reconnected with and carried in his heart. John will be forever remembered by his numerous nephews, nieces and extended family and dear friends. His parents were James C. Yates and Hattie Irene (Austin) Yates and his siblings are Gertrude Irene, Jane Oral, J C, Austin Terry, Ira Pearl, and Nicholas H (Martha Flo).

A remembrance of John’s life will be held at their home in North Richland Hills, TX on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts of remembrance can be left in his name to DFW Purebred and Domestic Cat Rescue Inc at https://dfwpurebredrescue.org or the charity or rescue of your choice.
