Calvin James McGill was born on August 31, 1966 in Richland Hills, Texas to Doris and James McGill.
Calvin graduated from L.D. Bell High School in 1984. He attended UTA of Arlington on a track and cross-country scholarship. Using the skills learned he built a career he loved as a coach for multiple agencies specializing in cross country, track, and volleyball. Calvin was an all-around sports fanatic. He loved everything about all sports. He attended every game he was able to and loved to watch sports and critique the strategies. He especially loved his Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars, and he grew up loving the Dallas Cowboys but switched to the Pittsburgh Steelers later in life. His family remembers him as a super saver. He was always going out to eat with family and or friends to any meal of the day and using his coupons, especially Groupons, to turn hundred-dollar bills into twenty-five-dollar checks. Frugality allowed him to enjoy his travels all over the world, always returning with gifts from the places he visited for his beloved mother and other family members. He loved his blood family, his career family but most of all…He loved God!
