Camon Everett Simon, known by Si to his family and friends, of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022. At the age of 61 years old, surrounded by his wife and children in his home, Si went to be with the Lord after battling Multiple Myeloma cancer for 2.5 years. He was born on January 5, 1961 at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado to Clifford Elroy and Violet Priscilla (Frey) Simon. Si graduated from Deering High School in North Dakota then went to Lake Region Junior College in Devils Lake, North Dakota for welding. He later attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis, Minnesota for computer science. Camon Simon and Darla Johnson were united in holy matrimony in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 27, 1986. God blessed their marriage with two children, Chris and Nicole.
He worked in Information Technology, providing desktop support at various companies throughout the years. Si was skilled in many areas, including: woodwork, welding, electrical, and fixing just about anything that was broken. In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and flying airplanes. He combined his passions and built an airplane of his own, which was a model RV-7A, when he lived in Lester Prairie,
Minnesota and had his own private runway and hangar. His flying adventures took him all the way from Alaska to Florida.
Si is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Darla; son Chris (Kathryn) Simon of Hannover, North Dakota; and daughter Nicole Simon of Fort Worth, Texas. He is the youngest of four children and is survived by his siblings: Priscilla (Steven) Bishop of Forest Lake, Minnesota; Candace (Dominique) Ourlin of Quebec
City, Quebec, Canada; and Thomas (Michele) Simon of Nixa, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents.
