Carey Wayne Hightower

Carey Wayne (Pete) Hightower, 65, passed away August 5, 2021 at Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest in Fort Worth, TX from complications of COVID Pneumonia. A Celebration of Life for Carey Wayne will take place in Burkett, TX at a later date when it is safer for family and friends to gather.
Carey Wayne was born March 10, 1956 in Ranger, TX to Carey and Mary Strickland Hightower and grew up in Cisco, TX. He graduated from Cisco High School in 1974. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. On December 28th, 1974 Carey Wayne married his soulmate, Avonda Marie Allen Carr, and They were happily married for 46 years. He worked and retired from the oil and gas industry. Carey Wayne and Avonda had 3 beautiful children, 5 precious grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carey and Mary Hightower.
Carey Wayne is survived by his wife, Avonda of Fort Worth, TX; sons, Jason Wayne Hightower of Cleburne, TX and Christopher Carey Hightower of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Amanda Hightower Dawson and husband, Shane Dawson of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Kathy Rush and husband, Fred of Edmond, OK; granddaughters, Evrithiki Hightower Bailey and Avonlea Dawson; grandsons, Aaron Dawson, Carey Dawson, and Jaxson Hightower; great-granddaughter, Lilliana Dawson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
