Carl Eugene Langford passed away on January 18 in Arlington, Texas.
Carl (Gene) grew up on County Road 2 in Ariton, Alabama near many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He graduated from Ariton High School and joined the Air Force where he served for 12 years. Then he began a career in law enforcement in Ohio with his most notable position being Chief Investigator of the Gallia County Sheriff's Department.
Carl enjoyed gardening. He and wife, Carol, had a garden with 20 different vegetables. They were served fresh, canned, or frozen. Purple hull peas were on the must have list and had to be ordered from a store in Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Velma and Verbie, and his siblings Dorothy Cook, Charles Langford, and Marie Agerton and his daughter, Vicki.
He is survived by his wife, Carol and her children, as well as his children, Rory and Shawna and their families and Vicki's children. Also surviving are his nephews: Robert, Richard, and Randy Agerton and family, Joel and Sheila Langford, Marsha and Rod Moss and family, Gerald and Susan Cook and family, the Harden and Peacock families, Jeff Cook, and the Kim Cook Maund family.
Burial will be at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
