Carol Ann Maxey Hopkins, 81, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017.
Memorial Service: 10:00 am, Monday, October 23, 2017 at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.
Carol was born on December 13, 1935 in Detroit, MI to parents, Clarence and Birdie Carr. She was a long time resident of Hurst and later moved to Crowley, Texas. Carol worked as a Librarian, but was best at being a mom, grandma, nana, and great grandmother. Her passion was her family and her animals on their farm in Crowley.
Carol is preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Aaron Maxey.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Hopkins; her sons, Andrew and wife Christi, Ricky and wife Ana, and Mick; daughters, Betsy and husband Tracy Whistler and Carrie and husband Jim Glindeman; grandchildren, Aaron Maxey, Drew Maxey, Gregory Higgins, Sarah Maxey, Nicole Medellin, Megan Cruz and wife Ali, Hannah Maxey, Mandy Tarver and husband Devin, Nicholas Whistler and wife Alicia, Michael Whistler and Sarah, Lisa Hankins and husband Justin, James Glindeman and William Glindeman; great grandchildren, Guinevere Cruz, Emma Tarver, Addison Whistler, Jacob Whistler, Kinsley Tarver, Sophia Glindeman, Benjamin Glindeman, Ian Hankins and Katelyn Hankins; and many other extended family and friends.
