Caroline grew up in Xenia, Ohio where she met the love of her life Donald Allen Carroll Sr. They were married on her birthday on June 23, 1949, and journeyed through life together for 54 years. Don served in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1971 in Burleson, Texas. Caroline served as a military wife and took on the mother and father role through Don’s remote tours in Saudi Arabia and Vietnam and uprooted the family for transfers to bases in Ohio, Illinois, New Mexico, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Nevada, England, and Texas. She planted many trees but never remained to see them grow. They lived their lives from base to base until retirement in Burleson in 1971.

Throughout Don’s tours, Caroline was a full-time mom to 5 children. Over the years, she served many roles. She joined her daughters in Girl Scouts as the Director of Girl Scouts in Salem, Massachusetts. She loved singing in the Church Choirs, hosting morning coffees for neighbors, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star as they moved to each Air Force Base.

When retirement came, they chose Burleson, Texas and Caroline transitioned to serving the communities of Crowley and Burleson. In 1975, she joined Little Tyke Creative Child Care and launched two centers in Crowley and Burleson. She served as the founding director of the Crowley center for 18 years. She attended Tarrant County College and graduated in 1978 with an Associate in Applied Sciences. She also served as President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association of Fort Worth and as President of the Business and Professional Woman’s Club of Crowley.

Caroline was dedicated to her civic duties. In 1982, she served as a Chisenhall Park Board member and in 1986 joined the Crowley Chamber of Commerce. In 1987, she was elected President of the Crowley Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, Caroline continued her community support by serving as an Election Judge in Burleson. And in 1989, as a member of the Crowley Chamber of Commerce and Library Committee, she joined the members in the Grand Opening of the Crowley Library.

Caroline devoted her life to God - Country – Family. She will live on in our hearts and memories. Caroline will join Don in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery to complete their journey and share their final home.
