Carolyn "Carrie" Suzanne Tomlin, age 49, of Keller, Texas passed away on February 4, 2021 at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Carrie was born Carol Jean Bear Shirt of the Oglala Sioux tribe in Pine Ridge, South Dakota on June 19, 1971 to mother Helena Hilda Chief Cortier and father Lawrence Bear Shirt. In 1972, she was adopted and named Carol Sue Murphy by mother Wilma Louise Murphy and father William James Murphy. Carrie attented Hamilton Heights High School in Indiana and graduated in 1989. She became a mother soon after and will be cherished by her children always.
Carrie is survived by her children: Cassandra Louise Hancock, William James Tomlin, Alexander Douglas Tomlin, and Aiyana Isabella Killen; along with their families, including her grandsons: Dakota, Cadon, Samuel, and Liam; as well as numerous sisters and brothers; and a host of other beloved family and friends.
A private memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, Texas. Due to current restrictions, family and friends in attendance must be limited in advance to a select few, and others will be invited to observe virtually via live stream.
