August 5, 1940 — June 3, 2017

Carolyn Parker, 76 of Richland Hills passed away June 3rd in Fort Worth.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., North Richland Hills Baptist Church.
Carolyn was born at home on the family farm August 5, 1940 in Stroud, OK. Her life on the farm growing up with her parents and two younger sisters taught her a sense of responsibility, work ethic and love of the Lord. Growing up as a teenager in the 1950’s was an idyllic time for Carolyn working as a soda jerk in the drug store and developing a life long love of Elvis Presley, she graduated from Wellston High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart in 1959. During the 1960’s and 1970’s Carolyn went from a working mother of two toddlers to a stay at home mom and back to a single working mother of teenagers. She discovered a love for Country and Western dancing and met the love of her life, Jim Parker. Jim and Carolyn enjoyed dancing, camping, church activities and spending time with their grandchildren. She was a prolific reader of novels and the bible and she loved to laugh and read the comic section of the newspaper. Carolyn found a passion for genealogical research in the past decade. She was a woman of empathy, thoughtfulness and kindness. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Lawrence Williams and her daughter Sally Parker Reese.
Carolyn is survived by her husband; mother Laura Waunita Williams; daughter Susan Kennedy; sons David Alexander and Jimmy (Tammi) Parker; sisters Glenda (Kent) Potts and Anita (Robert) Melrose; grandchildren Hannah Hardee, Margaret Hardee, Zachary Parker, Jacob Parker, Seth Parker and Lauren Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
