LUBBOCK -- Carrie Germany O'Bryan Callaway passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Lubbock at the age of 100 after a short illness

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. The Rev. Matt Ybanez will officiate. Interment: Carrie will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Donations may be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in memory of her daughter, Patricia Ann Neff.

Carrie was born April 20, 1912, in Miles. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Hurst where she was an active member for many years in the Saints Alive Choir and the Wesley Bible Class. She loved the arts and served on the board for the Las Colinas Symphony and was an avid supporter of the Cliburn Concert Series and the Cliburn piano competitions. She loved playing bridge and Hand and Foot with her friends. She was always ready to go and cruising was one of her favorite modes of travel.

She attended Haskell High School, Haskell, Okla., and the University of Arkansas where she pledged Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She married Edward Earl "Cal" Callaway, her husband of 49 years on July 12, 1934, in Henrietta. She lived many years in Fort Worth, Houston and Hurst before moving to Lubbock two years ago.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Earl "Cal" Callaway; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann Callaway Neff and Travis B. Neff; sister, Sirrilda O'Bryan Brown; brother, Tom Blair O'Bryan Jr.; and her parents, Tom Blair O'Bryan and Carrie Belle Germany O'Bryan.

Survivors: Daughters, Jodie Rawls and husband, Aubrey, of Lubbock and Nancy Callaway and husband, Bob Buchhiet, of Houston; grandsons, Brent Neff and wife, Lacretia, of Colleyville, Bart Neff of Lubbock, Randy Rawls and wife Robin of Lubbock; granddaughters, Renee Rawls Bradley and husband, Tom, of Provo, Utah, and Monica Lee Huchton of Houston; great-grandchildren, Candace Neff Randolph and husband, Ben, of Southlake, Josh Neff and wife, Stirling, of Austin, Hunter and Alexis Rawls of Lubbock, Jessie and Josh Bradley of Provo, Utah, and Lauren and Amber Huchton of Pearland; great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Addison Randolph of Southlake; first cousin, Van Cliburn of Fort Worth; nieces, Mary Ann Kimberlin of Fort Worth and Susan O'Bryan Cotton of Wichita Falls; nephews, Tom Blair "Toby" O'Bryan of Clinton, Miss., and Mark O'Bryan of Carrollton; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
