Catherine Lynn Cary

Catherine Lynn Burg-Cary, 55 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Cathy was born August 17, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, to Sharon Wells-Burg and her father, the late Edward John Burg. A resident of the state of Michigan for several years, her family moved to Largo, Florida where she attended Largo High School and obtained her license to be a beautician.

Later, Cathy was employed by Nokia Mobile Phones where she met her husband, Kenneth Cary, whom together they had two daughters Alexandra Veronica Cary (1995) and Samantha Grace Cary (1997), while living in their new home state of Texas.

Throughout her life, Cathy was admired for her loving and caring personality, often providing huge comforting hugs to friends and family members. She lived her life selflessly, always wanting to take care of others before taking care of herself. Every one of her daughter’s friends immediately felt her love and made them feel like family. She would do anything to put a smile on your face. Cathy attended many events with the entire family to provide support to the girls in any activity they were interested in. She obtained great joy in traveling to meet family, seeing grandchildren and watching great nephews, and took a special interest in her husband’s creation of the family tree for his extended family and hers.

Excited to learn the origins of her family tree, Cathy and Kenneth were preparing to start traveling to locations that relatives lived, while reaching out and making those new family connections. Together, they began a hobby with their daughters in gardening to add beauty to both their and their daughter’s homes. She also enjoyed finding the beauty in antique items, and found great joy in restoring and bringing pieces home to give them a new life, she found beauty in everything.

Our beloved Cathy will be sorely missed by many friends, family members and most of all those that were welcomed into her loving arms including, her husband, Kenneth Cary; son, Xavier Lydell Cary (Fort Worth); daughters, Alexandra Cary, Jazmin Aisha Cary (Niagara Falls), Samantha Cary, and Chantel Nicole Cary- Jovanović (Boston); grandchildren, Elijah Cary, Bekim Cary, Aleksandar Jovanović, and Anastasia Jovanović; mother, Sharon Burg; sisters, Judy Burg-Larmer (Fort Worth) and Debra Burg-Boggs (Iowa); numerous close nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
