Cathy Bobbitt Ashford

July 28, 1956 — December 15, 2017

Cathy Marie Bobbitt Ashford went to be with our Heavenly Father the evening of December 15, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 28, 1956 in Lubbock, TX to William Houston Bobbitt, Sr. and Ozie Marie Kegley Bobbitt. Cathy graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, LA in 1974 and went on to marry Richard M. Ashford on May 1, 1976. They were married for 41 years.

Cathy took great pride in her work as an inventory analyst for most of her life. Her loves included bowling, sewing, Christmas, and, most of all, riding her motorcycle alongside her husband.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, son Robert Alan and wife Tiffany, grandson Royce Jennings Ashford, son Randall Houston and fiancée Meghan Elizabeth Hall— all of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by one brother, William Houston Bobbitt, Jr., and two sisters, Edna Louise Bobbitt Glay and Carol Sue Presnell, of Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Lou Nell Carroll Ashford, and brother-in-law Royce Alan Ashford.

Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2017, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, TX from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral along with a second visitation will occur at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Southside Chapel in Shreveport, LA Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Visitation will start at 10:00am and the funeral will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow immediately after at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA.
