Cecil Kennedy Meeks

February 2, 1928 — January 22, 2019

Cecil Kennedy Meeks, 90, passed away on
January 22, 2019 in Carrollton, Texas. He was born on
February 2, 1928, in Geneva County, Alabama, to Jesse
and Alzie Nelson Meeks.
After high school, he joined the United States Air Force
and served for 27 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam
war. He was honorably discharged in 1971, achieving the
rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Cecil began working at the
United States Civil Service. He worked there for the next
20 years. He was also involved in St. Anthony’s Anglican
Church in Alvarado, Texas.
Cecil was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carrie
Sue Meeks; sons, Ronald Kay Meeks and Dana Alden
Meeks; and daughters, Mary Dow McMahan and Debra
Jane Street.
Cecil is survived by his son, Donald Ray Meeks; sister,
Syble Harrison of Opp, Alabama; brothers, Charles Meeks
of Troy, Alabama and Ray Meeks of Ocala, Florida; 10
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his nieces and
nephews and other relatives.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to VITAS
Hospice, St. Anthony’s Anglican Church, close friends and family.
