It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chang Sik Sohn, age 89, on January 28, 2025. Chang Sik was born in South Korea on November 28, 1935, and worked as a math teacher in Korea before immigrating to the United States in 1975 with his wife, Kwang Ja, and their three young children, seeking a better future for his family.

He worked tirelessly and was deeply dedicated to his family and children's education, always prioritizing their well-being and success. In recent years his focus became his passion for inspiring learning and nurturing others, including his grandchildren. Chang Sik had an exceptional talent for gardening and a love for sharing this with his family. His garden became a place of growth, not just for plants but also for lessons about life and cherished memories.

He is survived by his three children: Andrew Sohn, Jacqueline (married to Bernard J. Costello), and Paige (married to Martin Sobol). He was a beloved grandfather to Mia, Michael, Harrison, and Emily. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kwang Ja.

Chang Sik Sohn is remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his commitment to their education, and his kind, nurturing spirit. His legacy lives on through the lessons he imparted and the love he gave, always putting others before himself.

A viewing will be held at Lucas Funeral Home in Southlake, TX, and a private burial service will be held at Bluebonnet Cemetery in Colleyville, TX. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity that moves you to honor Chang Sik Sohn.
