Charlene Swanzy
KELLER -- While surrounded by her family, Charlene Swanzy, went to heaven Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Keller followed by interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pastor, the Rev. Keith Sanders, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. John Redfern. Charlene was born in Teague Sept. 18, 1930, to William C. and Lera Cooper. She met the love of her life, W.T.Swanzy Jr., on a blind date, married him on Nov. 5, 1948, and lived happily ever after for 64 years. Charlene was preceded to heaven by her parents; her brother, Billy Joe Cooper; her son, Russell Gene Swanzy; her grandson, Joshua Wade Bowden; and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Riley. Survivors: Those left behind to honor her memory are her loving husband, W.T.Swanzy Jr.; her son, W.T. Swanzy III and his wife, Judy; her daughter, Cynthia Bowden and her husband, Clay, her daughter, Charnell Walker and her husband, Charlie; and her son, Billy Joe Cooper. Charlene is also survived by the lights of her life, her eight grandchildren and her 19 great-grandchildren.
