Charles was born in Peerless, TX to Herschel and Gladys Arnold on September 3, 1931. He went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2018 after a brief illness. He is now celebrating with his loving wife, Edna, who preceded him in death last Christmas.
He is survived by his three daughters, Patricia Mitchell and spouse Larry, Janie Osborne and Vicki Jones and her spouse Tommy; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Charles retired from General Motors after 25 years. He then began a second career in real estate sales which lead to him becoming a home builder. He partnered with John Barfield for many years before branching out on his own as Charles Arnold Homebuilders, a successful venture that he ran with his wife Edna. Charles was a great salesman who loved people and was always the life of the party. He had a joke for every occasion.
After retiring from homebuilding, he and Edna spent many years at their lake house at Lake Fork, where they spent hours fishing and boating. Charles and Edna enjoyed traveling, visiting 22 countries, and loved visiting Las Vegas and Louisiana casinos. Charles loved dancing and country western music. Fort Worth Northside was one of his favorite places to hang out.
He was a huge outdoors man and spent many hours fishing and hunting. He especially loved taking his grandsons fishing with him. He was an awesome Dad and Pepaw that loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
We will miss him dearly, however our memories of him will be in our hearts forever. We know he is in Heaven with our Heavenly Father and dancing across Heaven with our mom.
