Charles Billman, Jr

CHARLES FRANKLIN BILLMAN, JR. – passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at age 85 at his home in Grapevine. He was born on Feb. 15, 1940 in Weatherford, Parker Co., TX to Katie Mae Waxler & Charlie Billman, Sr.

Chuck graduated from C. F. Brewer High School in May 1958. He joined the US Navy Reserve in the spring of 1957 and was sent to active duty shortly after graduation at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island. He was with the USNR from April 9, 1957 and honorably discharged on April 8, 1963 with the rank of SK3 and served on the USS Chambers (DER-391). He started his career with UPS and rose up the ranks. In 1971 he was transferred back to TX to open the UPS Centers in Dallas, Ft. Worth & Longview. After 17 years with UPS he moved on to Peterman Tire Co. and then to Bridgestone-Firestone where he retired in 2006.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy Womble Billman; son, Robert R. Billman and daughter, Donna Billman Hail; 5 grandchildren; step-children that he loved as his own, Gerald Womble, Amy Maxam & Meredith Maxam Cerny; and 8 step-grandchildren and a few g-g-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law Jim & Cindy Bird; sister, Diane Rae. He was preceded by his parents: Katie Waxler Smith & step-father Harold W. Smith and father C.F. Billman, Sr.; sisters Betty Henslee and Donna Lease. Also preceded by 1st wife & mother of his children, Dolores Mullens Soares and 2nd wife, Linda Webb Billman, his step-son, Gordon Womble.

He was old-school and his word was his bond. His family always came first. His moniker was “Everybody loves Chuck” and everybody did.
