Charles S. Guthrie

Charles S. Guthrie, 73, of Richland Hills, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2021. He was born to Arthur and Elizabeth Guthrie on April 11, 1948 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was married to Sandra K. Wright on July 21, 1980. He served his country proudly as a Scout Dog Handler in the Vietnam War. Charles dedicated much of his life to being a firefighter and police officer. He was a hard worker, loved the outdoors, working with his tools, and Alabama football. He was happiest spending time at his lake-house with family and friends. He was a good man, loving husband, father, and grandfather (Papa, granddad).

He is survived by his wife Sandra Guthrie and his children Kresta Ruff (David), Melane Reger (Ryan), Valerie Ranton (Jay), Michelle Bennett, Angie Dreiling, and Elizabeth Jones. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Haylee Conditt, Dylan Dreiling, Austin Ruff, Jaycee Upshaw, Kelsi Jones, Jordan Ruff, Jayden Gutierrez, Blase Barnett, Tristan Jones, Monica Ranton, Ryker Lynch, and Callen Reger.
Great grandchildren: Amelia Zavala, Kael Upshaw
He is also survived by his sister Frances Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Guthrie.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Graveside service with military honors will be Monday, July 19, 2021 at 2:30 pm in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
