Charles Harold Harrison

Charles Harrison, 76, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 at his home in Bedford, Texas. Born May 20, 1947 in Comanche , Oklahoma, he was the only child of Clarence Harold and Mary Lee (Slayton) Harrison.

Charles served his country through the Vietnam War. He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army retiring in 1989 after 21 years plus years with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served his last four years as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He then became a Special Agent for the U.S. Federal Investigation Service. He retired in 2013 after 20 years.

Charles had a passion for cooking and baking, working with wood and a multitude of crafts. He loved to travel, music, and playing games with friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandad (paps) and great grandad (paw paw).

Charles is survived by his wife, Patsy (Buford) Harrison and five children (two by marriage): Timothy Charles and wife Brandi (Richey) Harrison, Sheri Diane and husband Michael Bresette, Wendy Dawn and husband Craig Edington, Richard D. Woodby, Lora Beth (Woodby) and her husband Thomas Scott Macaulay, nine granchildren and seven great-grand children.

The time we had with Charles will give us memories to draw from forever. Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We invite you to celebrate Charles' life. A graveside service with military honors will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas Texas.
