Charles Bert Miller, of Trophy Club, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2024. Bert was preceded in death by his father Emmett Miller, and mother Mildred Miller. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years Nancy Miller; children Trey (Susan) Miller, Tracy (Harold) Johnson, and Kevin (Carrie) Miller; brother Jack (Cindy) Miller. His legacy continues with his grandchildren Shelby (Nick) Hames, Samantha (Tyler) Nickelson, Lillian Johnson, Ashley Miller, Cole Miller, and Avery Miller; great-granddaughter Millie Hames who carries the cherished name of his mother, Mildred. And a great-grandson, Reagan Nickelson, is eagerly anticipated.
Bert was born on July 19, 1945, to Emmett Miller and Mildred Miller in San Antonio, Texas. After Bert graduated from Sunset High school in 1963. He served in the United States Navy from 1965-1969. He served on the aircraft carrier, USS America CV-66, during his time in the Navy. He went on to study at Dallas Baptist University, graduating in 1982. Bert worked for numerous subsidiaries of Lockhead Martin for a span of 38 years, before retiring in 2007.
Known for his generous spirit and dedication to service, Bert's life was marked by his commitment to helping others. He was a faithful volunteer at multiple charitable organizations, including Meals on Wheels. Additionally, he participated in numerous mission trips and was a regular usher at his local church every Sunday.
Bert lived a life filled with adventure, traveling extensively across the globe, and embracing the beauty of diverse cultures and experiences. His adventurous spirit was matched by his enthusiasm for sports. A die-hard fan, Bert never missed a game of his favorite teams, the Rangers, and the Cowboys, bringing the same passion and loyalty he devoted to every aspect of his life.
Bert's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched through his community service. His journey may have ended on this earth, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and served.
The visitation will be at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller Texas, on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm. Services will be held at 11 am at Plymouth Park United Methodist on April 29, 2024. Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the fellowship hall at Plymouth Park. He will be laid to rest at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery
