Charles Buddy Shepler

Charles E. “Buddy” Shepler passed away on November 8, 2018 in North Richland Hills, TX. Buddy was born on October 24, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to Harry and Hazel Shepler. He married the love of his life, Gloria, on November 27, 1953. Together, they raised three children. Buddy worked hard as a traveling salesman with Tony Lama Boot Co. for over 20 years, and retired from Rios of Mercedes Boot Co. in 1996. Buddy was an avid golfer, and he and Gloria enjoyed travelling and playing different courses. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Shepler, and daughter, Glenda Shepler. He is survived by son, Craig Shepler (Tami); daughter, Gina Shepler Mardis (Chris); granddaughters, Shannon May, Brett Sipla (Kevan), and Courtney Kersey (Bryan); sister Melva Sankey-Sims; brother Jimmy Shepler (Margo); and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Grapevine, TX on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
