Charles Eugene "Butch" West

Charles Eugene "Butch" West, 78, of Burleson passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Visitation: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday., September 29, 2017 at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home.
Charles was born July 23, 1939 in Pecos, TX, to loving parents Hiram Oscar and Francis West, he was the youngest of four children. He entered the Marines at 17 and served for 3 years. After his service, Charles worked for Kings Candy Company where he met the love of his life Shirley West and they married on March 20, 1964, after 3 weeks of dating. He eventually retired after 30 years at Lockheed Martin.
Charles was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a proud Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents H.O. And Francis West, his sisters Mary Sue Farris and Jackie Gray, and his best friend Jimmy Snelson.
He is survived by his wife Shirley West, and sister Virgina Corbitt, one daughter, Terri Galupi (husband Pete) and one son Jerry West (wife Vicki); three granddaughters, Kelsi DeKeyser (husband Alex), Hayli Galupi, and Ashli Galupi. Two great grandsons, Chandler DeKeyser and D'Artagnan DeKeyser. Several nieces and nephews. Extended family, Linda Snelson, Sonya West, Sheri Kline, Randy Pair, Kelly Cox, Paula Brumagin, and Charles "Chaz" Pair.
